About our Odessa masonry contractor company

Red brick paver driveway leads to a white two-story house with a double garage and green lawn.

How a small engine mechanic ended up laying brick

Before I ever picked up a trowel, I ran a small engine repair shop for years. Most of that work came down to one question: why did it quit? I learned masonry working under an experienced mason here in Odessa, and in 2013 I started this business because I liked the work, and I liked figuring out why a wall cracks or a chimney leaks.

We're best known for the repairs other folks found tricky: old brick, worn joints and foundations that have moved. Homeowners and property owners in Odessa and the cities around it usually call us when they want someone to look closely before anything gets torn out. The city's code sets our frost line at 12 inches and rates our weathering as moderate, so I check how a footing sits before I blame the brick. A patch over the real problem just comes back. You can see the work we take on from our home page.

What working with us is like

  • I come look at it myself

I walk your job in person and work out why the masonry failed, whether that's the mortar, the footing or water getting in. That way you pay to fix the real problem and not just the crack you can see.

  • A small job stays small

If the fix turns out smaller than you feared, I'll tell you so plainly. We won't stretch a repair into something bigger than it needs to be, because I'd rather do a small job right than sell you a big one.

  • Permits sorted before we start

When your job needs a permit, we check with the office that covers your address, handle the application ourselves and tell you where it stands before work starts. Inside Odessa city limits that's the city's Building Inspections Division, and the city wants a contractor registered before it issues a permit, so that's a fair thing to ask anyone you're comparing.

How a job goes with us

  1. You call

I answer my own phone, and we reply within one business day. You can also send us a note about what you're seeing and where.

  2. Questions first

On site I ask what you've noticed and when it started, because how a crack changed over time says a lot about what's behind it.

  3. Plain estimate

The estimate is free, with no obligation. I write up what we'd do and why in plain words, so you can lay it beside any other bid.

  4. Crew on site

I'm on site with the crew I work with, and we keep you posted from the first day through cleanup.

  5. What to watch

Before we leave, we walk you through what we did and why, so you know what to keep an eye on afterward.
